Capital Kids DC is an educational childcare center and preschool in the West End neighborhood who has provided nurturing care for over 25 years. Our center has adopted the Experience Curriculum, a research-backed, play-based curriculum where children are nurtured and encouraged to discover, explore, and learn in a variety of ways. We are a family-owned and operated center where the teachers, director, and owners know and value each child and family.
Parents need flexible care options and we are pleased to offer both full time and part-time care for parents who split their time between the home and office. Also, Capital Kids DC is open from 7:30am to 6pm to help support parents who need a few extra minutes of care at the beginning or end of the work day. We are located in the WWF building and love our neighborhood. We take full advantage of the green spaces around our school and explore more of DC with our older classes. Capital Kids DC has been caring for and educating the youth of the DMV for over 25 years and hope to do so for decades to come!
Capital Kids DC's owners are on site every day. Combined, they represent the LGBTQ+ community, as well as religious and ethnic minorities. Their goal is to create an inclusive, diverse environment for children to learn and grow. Our teachers and families represent many countries, languages, and religious traditions. We value and encourage teachers and students to share their languages and cultures at school.
Capital Kids DC's owner, Sulfyna, has her master's degree in education and our other owner, Michael, sends his own child here. They were brought together through Sulfyna's love of early childhood development and Michael's desire to help shape his own child's earliest years of development.
